The Kentucky Resources Council, Kentucky's environmental advocacy organization offering legal and strategic assistance without charge, updates its website every Friday and sends out weekly email updates.

Kentuckians for the Commonwealth sends out action alerts and features a blog on its website with the latest news on mountain top removal.

The Kentucky Conservation Committee sends out frequent email updates to its members and a newsletter twice a year with a special report on the legislative session.

• Address your legislator in the proper way
• use 'Honorable' before his/her name in the address
• use "Dear Senator' or 'Dear Representative' with the last name in the salutaion
• Always keep your written correspondence short and to the point
• be polite, state the facts and your opinion, say Thank You, and let them know you plan to stay in touch
